          For over a century, research on leadership has been able to explain the impact of leadership styles on job effectiveness, productivity, and employee satisfaction in different ways. In this dissertation, the data obtained from 1,925 Turkish police officers in different ages, genders, and ranks was analysed. Descriptive statistics and several statistical techniques including factor analysis, multiple regression, and multivariate analysis of variance were used for this analysis. This researcher adhering to the transformational and transactional leadership theory and using its third generation questionnaire defined latent leadership styles embedded in the Turkish National Police. Having defined them, this researcher examined the impacts of transformational and transactional leadership styles on the effectiveness and satisfaction levels of individuals and organization.

        Afterwards, this dissertation also demonstrated whether there is an association between transformational leadership and Emotional Intelligence (EI). Furthermore, this study examined the levels of personal satisfaction or dissatisfaction among the Turkish police officers concerning their superiors, especially in terms of their leadership styles and demographic features such as gender, age, region, education, and experience (the length of service). This examination demonstrated how factors, such as gender, age, experience, and education contributed to police leadership styles in Turkey.
